Ashkan has served as the CTO at IEMS Solutions (August 2022 to present); Founder & CEO at IEMS Solutions (July 2015 to July 2022); Senior Data Scientist at Opus One Solutions (2016-2018); V.P. of Engineering at Genscape Inc. (2001 to 2002); Ashkan is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada and a Senior Member of IEEE; has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers; is the main inventor of 6 US provisional patents about Smart Grid Software/SaaS. IEMS Solutions has successfully completed three projects on utilizing DERMS and Transactive Energy for Distributed Energy Resources, Demand Response and EV-fleet for vehicle-to-grid (or V2G) services for LG Nova (August 2022), IESO (March 2022) and University of Ottawa (March 2022).
Transactive based Control of VPP and EV-fleet by means of Blockchain Technology In this talk/presentation, the CIGRE MV/LV test network with one 45 kW solar-PV, five virtual power plants (VPPs) with one industrial VPP, one commercial VPP, and three residential VPPs, three AC fast EV chargers (type 2) and three DC fast chargers (type 3) was chosen to demonstrate the performance of an innovative and applied BCTE (blockchain based transactive energy) platform for near real-time transactive based control of EV-fleet and VPP to meet the grid operators’ objectives to have more reliable, resilient and sustainable grids of the future with less GHG emissions.
